He might have finally pulled down the curtains to his international cricketing career earlier this year, but Shahid Afridi still continues to prove that there is ample of cricket left in him. And on Saturday, November 11, the former Pakistani cricketer produced yet another splendid all-round show against Sylhet Sixers in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League as his side Dhaka Dynamites registrered a comprehensive eight-wicket victory at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
With Dhaka opting to field first, Sunil Narine and Abu Hider Rony caused ample of damage on the Sylhetians by dismissing their top order. But it was Afridi, who turned out to be the wrecker-in-chief with his astonishing 4/12 to keep the middle-order at bay. By the 13th over, Sylhet Sixers were wounded down to 53 for nine, however, their 48-run stand off the last wicket between Abul Hasan and Taijul Islam helped them post a total of 101 runs.

Not much of a difficult start for Shakib Al Hasan's men as openers Even Lewis and Afridi put up a carnival of boundaries and sixes to blaze away to a 59-run opening stand from just 25 deliveries. The former Pakistan skipper laced five sixes and a boundary to amass 37 runs from 17 balls.
After Afridi's dismissal of a leg before wicket by Tim Bresnan, Shakib had just a little work to do in the fag-end of their innings. With still 12.1 overs to go, the Dynamites had breached the target and thus secured a stunning eight-wicket victory.
Dhaka now stand second on the BPL list with four points from three matches, while the Sixers sit atop despite the crushing defeat. They have six points from five matches.
